Attorney Cortney Shegerian Releases Statement on $20 Million Fox

In the recent news the parent company of Fox news, 21st Century Fox Corporation is been issued a statement by Cortney Shegerian of the Los Angeles-based employment discrimination firm Shegerian and Associates has settled the sexual harassment lawsuit with former anchor Gretchen Carlson for $20 million. 

In her complaint against Fox News, Gretchen Carlson’s described how she was sexually harassed by a superior. She went through the tough time of listening to offensive sexual remarks, ogling and demands for sex during her tenure with the network. Later on, she was wrongfully terminated for rejecting the sexual demand of her superior. 

“It was Carlson’s brave decision to come forward about the sexual harassment which many women faced in their offices but keep quiet to save their jobs or get fear by their powerful harassers. Carlson’s decision will empower other women to take a step against the sexual harassment within the network” said Cortney Shegerian

Shegerian Said” A senior level executive has offered her career advancement in exchange for sex and attempted to abuse his power by making offensive sex remarks on Carlson. However the apology issued by the network is more satisfying than the settlement. Fox news will now review their sexual harassment prevention policies to avoid further backlash”
